New Zealand Pictures - Mt Aspiring, Lake Wakatipu, Dart River

Copyright © 2003, 2007 Chris Torek.

Velvia 50 film.

Frames 1-5 are shots of Mt Aspiring, a continuation of those from the previous roll, taken on 21 Feb 2003.  Shot 4 is probably the best, although this is on the rather poor 100-300 lens and hence not very sharp.  Avalanche Peak is visible as the double-humped peak at the left, with Mt Aspiring a bit to the right of center.

Frames 6-8 are from the road to Queenstown.  Lake Wakatipu is just barely visible.

Frames 9-19 are of Lake Wakatipu, at various angles.  The Remarkables are visible in 9 and 10, I believe (which means that this is the south arm of the lake).  I think 9-13 were taken on 21 Feb as well, while 14-19 were taken on 22 Feb.  Frame 20 is a kitty we met in Glenorchy while waiting for a jet-boat trip up the Dart River.  Frames 21-29 were taken as the jet-boat ran up the lake and onto the Dart; frames 23, 24, 25, and 27 are of Mt Earnslaw.  Frames 30 and 31 are where the boat pulled into a side valley.  Frames 32-36 are from a short hike in that side valley.
