Cathedral Gorge State Park, NV

Cathedral Gorge State Park is at the intersection of SR56? and XXXX.  The weather was very Nevada-desert-in-summer: hot and dry in the valleys, cloudy and wet in the mountains.  You can see the clouds in the middle picture.

Usually, a group like this indicates that there was some kind
of harder `cap' stone over a softer layer.  The remaining bits of cap
protect the softer stuff that sits underneath them.

These formations are relatively small.
